Wow!
She looks way better than on the thumbnail. Please, don't take me wrong. I have already noticed that thumbnails can be deceiving... And it was a bit by chance that I saw your work...
But it's magnificent! I never could imagine that that amount of detail could be achieved! Particularly with tools like general-store-pens and a a marker.
How did you draw the lips? And how did you shade the eyes? I imagine you used the marker?

Thank you so much for your kind words !!! I'm so happy that you appreciate my work.
Next time I'll try to take better quality pictures, maybe it will make the thumbnails look better...
Actually, I only used the marker on the background (the big rectangle that's a bit darker). The biggest rectangle with lines inside was done with a glitter gel pen. Everything else is drawn with a ball point pen!
For the lips, I usually draw only the line separating the two lips (do you see what I mean?) And define the lower lip a little, then I add some shades on the edges to give the shape of a real mouth. I shaded lightly here because I wanted a natural look, if you want a lipstick look then don't hold back on the shades, the shape of the mouth must be noticeable.
The trick for shading is to leave different amounts of blank space between the strokes; the closer the strokes are, the darker the color becomes. And to apply different pressures on the pen, that's what I do for the roots of the hair and the eyes. First I color lightly then I add some darker shades to make a gradient of colors. But you can shade using a marker, it'll work out, just make sure it's color is close to the pen ink's one. It's useful especially for the skin since it leaves a smooth look.
