They have been doing a thing where each character has some kind of "test" if you will, and that could be Rex's. Although, the battle with those Droids probably fulfilled that.

I do like this look for Rex. I think you've captured his personality well.
And I like the effect of the blue flashes sort of flying off his armor - as though he's leaving his past self in the 501st behind, and about to start something new.

You can really see that Clone Captain from all those years ago. Eyes still sharp and posture regal despite age.
