Description
Sigh...I'm so behind with my anime and manga updates. There's just so many of them, I can't keep up! Even the really good ones.
But it's fine. We all don't have to like the same shows. We don't have to choose between One Piece or Detective Conan. If you like one than the other, that's fine! If you like both, that's great! If you don't like neither, that's absolutely fine too!
Lately, I'm more into watching cartoons and reading webcomics. Heck, I'm also rewatching Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers.

I have the same feeling but to be franky honest if you really are into manga you SHOULD know Osamu Tezuka's work's and give Yotsuba a chance. I'm kinda sad that alot of new anime manga fans only want to watch and read the newest series and pass on to the next as soon as a new one comes out. :/

Anyone who's never heard of Osamu Tezuka doesn't know the first thing about manga.

I know what's that like. I was at Fancon 2011 and I cosplayed as Sango from InuYasha and only three people (who weren't in my group) knew who I was. when others asked who I was and I told them it was "who?" "never heard of that one" or "was it a CGI?"

I know how you feel. I used to study anime/manga for a long time until I crashed and dropped out, even left the con circuit and stopped drawing entirely for writing novels. When I returned everyone kept asking me what I've watched recently and it was like no one knew of anything older then 5 years...
Actually recently I had a really odd experience. I met someone in my building who claimed to be a big anime fan. I got talking about different series and slowly realized the person was very new to everything. Then I brought up Miyazaki, thinking everyone knew who he was, only I got a blank stare. I listed everything Miyazaki has done only to have the person say, "I recently watched Cardcaptors" I blinked at him, "You don't mean Card Captor Sakura do you? "It was on TV recently. I liked it." I nearly hit my head on the wall as if finally dawned on me that this person has only wanted fox dubs and never encountered a sub in his life... nevermind that he was 16 years younger then me... *sighs* Made me feel so old.
Sorry to ramble.

When I read this, I didn't know who Osamu was either. Then I found out he made astro boy, Kimba the White Lion, Buddha, and even invented the "Large Eyes" style we all know and love. Now I'm kicking myself for being an idiot.

LOL, that's what happens when you get old I guess you tend to want to go back to the brighter days rather than move on to new stuff . I know this feeling and yeah I'm pretty outdated too and I'm going on 28 which means your a wooping 30+
. Oh boy, 2 more years for me. I'm getting drunk for sure on that day I don't wanna remember that day, haha

*sigh* C'mon anime fans, not knowing your roots and history? SAAAAD. It's like not knowing who Disney and Don Bluth or Tex Avery are... It makes me faceplam something hard.
Now I feel like watching some old anime... Mmmm Irresponsible Captain Tylor...

Not all anime fans are as obsessive. Some are just casual fans so, it's okay if they don't know a lot of the well known manga artists.

I'm all the opposite: I prefer things from the old age, like Sailor Moon or the so. The most modern one was, I think, Card Captor Sakura.
