i drew this at the animal clinic one slow thursday; at this time, i was working VERY early in the mornings at a racehorse breeding and training center (like 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., then at the clinic 12 until 7!) the most amazing thing was thath the owner of the ranch's late wife had a puma named "cherry" she was beautiful, soulful, and lonely. the ferrier would spend time with her when he could, but for the most part, she was alone in her pen with only a few large plastic balls to play with. i felt her life must have been difficultt- she wasn't spayed, and would cycle every few weeks in the spring. she was so unhappy, pacing and meowing. anyways, she inspired this drawing; i just felt like people in south florida had no idea the national treasure we have in the everglades... completely without our assistance they survive, but by our destruction thry die...
