Description
this was the very first "drawing" i did after my 4 year hiatus. i would doodle, but nothing that was a thought-out composition. i had to use fine point sharpie markers at my "real" job as a veterinary technician during the day. i just was covering the receptionist desk one day and got busy.
i was having a rough time with my boyfriend at the time, and i had a guy-friend from my "fun" job (i worked part-time at a "novelty shop" aka "headshop") who was a really nice guy. the night before, i ran into him at a dunkin donuts while i was getting a coffee colado... at 10 o'clock! he took me out to eat, got me drunk, and took me on an airboat ride at midnight into the everglades! it was amazing! so many eyes in the dark... drifting about softly in the water, engine off, listeneing to the night noises of the glades... wow. that's exactly what is in the background-the bizarre position of the moon low in the sky, the canal warnings, the sawgrass. i used some artist's speculation on the "swamp lions" though. hope ya like it!
oh-and that guy and i never did hook up, but that event gave me just what i needed at that time... kind interest, reserved but fun, and although he came onto me, he respected me. it really works, guys! if he had only returned my call the next day, maybe...we'll never know what may have happened? but oh-well.
