Just a pic, taken with my Samsung Camera Phone, of my best guy, Y Z, sitting in the passenger seat of my car on the way home from the beach. Where we where breakin the law... since it is illegal to have dogs on the beach. But the locals all hang out there, and it's not such a tourist-y place... so we fly under the radar, for the most part. I was told by an officer once that the reason dogs are not allowed on the beaches is due to a parasite that people can get from dog's feces and is absorbed thru the skin. Uh... like hookworms? Do you really think that the raccoons, possums, and other critters that frequently use the beach as a restuarant are not more likely to spread parasites than my dog, who is current on all vaccines and preventatives? What about people pissing in the ocean? Or people with HIV doing that? Maybe some other bug in the water? In all seriousness, the potential of anyone getting parasites from MY dog are slim-to-none... but the potentail of getting an STD before you are 30 is pretty high...
