Description
This is Aviun, a request byYou can see the sketch for this character in my scrapbook.
I used a reference for his face, he looks like Heath Ledger
I'm afraid I took some liberties with the colours of his clothesβ¦but not much.
Painter 11 using oils, oil pastels and airbrush.
Finishing touch and color correction in PhotoShop CS4
21.4. I forgot to mention that I used the armour of Rahm Kota as a reference, and Han Solo's belt and blaster

Basically, he's a soldier from the Star Wars universe...A COOL looking soldier, thanks to Rinter

Thank you Drawing challenges like this is new to me,
but I've noticed that it is very interesting.

Thank you I've used Painter for years but I'm still learning new features.
Do you use Painter?

yes I do, but only for making my photoshop composites look painterly, using the Cloning tools and brushes.
Real paintings I do traditional ways using oils and canvas.

Hey, sorry I haven't been on in a very long time. Um....perhaps I will, at least I'll try to put up a few for you. I dont suppose you still do requests?

Rinter In reply to Lord-Arashi [2011-01-09 16:32:54 +0000 UTC]
I've had very little time for fan art lately so I decided to decline all new requests for the time being.
I've got one request remaining but after that completed I'll do some works of my own choosing.
Maybe SW beast sketches 2 (as you may have noticed the first one had mainly beasts of burden,
so the second one will feature more ferocious creatures )

Nice. Love the level of detail you put into these... Textures, along with light and shadow on all the different material types in his outfit... and the background even has tiny ships in the sky!

Thank you The ships were a late addition - I realized the sky was too empty for a Star Wars city.
I really should experiment with textures more so I'll learn to use them properly now that I CAN use them -
my old Mac couldn't deal very well with paintings with many layers but with the new computer it seems to be no problem
