Poor guys. My interpretation is that the Shadow animatronics are the people that died in the springsuits in the past. In the audio tapes, the guy talks about decommissioning the suits due to the accidents of the spring locks locking up with them inside. There were two suits: Golden Freddy, and Golden Bonnie. One of the children and Purple Guy possessed the suits. But the spirits remain behind.
