Forgot - Had Bilbo Baggins been played by Peter (Cleggy) Sallis, I MIGHT have seen the movie, but as it is, I'll just be Cleggy and stay home & read the book.

The thought just occured to me: Bilbo could have been played by the British actor Peter Sallis. His character Cleggy (of Last of the Summer Wine) has much in common with Bilbo Baggins.

Bilbo's expression is both amusing, as well as fitting; when the "most wretched adventure" first came into his home, he was rather resistant to it all.

I reread the Hobbit every year. It's an old friend...
If they ever make a live-action version of The Hobbit (like LotR) I hope Peter Jackson does it.
