given that he did not see Turgon again until the battle where Fingon died and most likely had very little contact with Gondolin being closed off from the world, I think Fingon would feel abandoned with neither Turgon or Aredhel around. Adding more pressure on him as the next-in-line for marrying and fathering a heir of his own, possibly more children since he may not have known about his sister-son Maeglin and with Idril away in Gondolin with no words of her marrying either... (and he died long before Tuor wed Idril.)

The waves behind him have sound. The paean of the sea.

Beutiful picture. I love sea and sky on it.
By the way, I have to ask: do you sketch your picture before painting it?

No, I do a pencil drawing on watercolor paper based on the sketch (I use glass and lamp to do that), and then paint it.

Wow! I just love the color scheme and the turbulence of the crashing waves and the stormy sea--they look like they're reflecting Fingon's inner turmoil. And I do love how that watercolor wash (with the storm clouds in the back) look like its raining far off in the distance. The marbling effect is stunning too, it actually reminds me of a lot of Alma-Tadema's paintings. Beautiful work!

Thank you! You are right, I really love his paintings and was inspired by the way he depicts those benches, columns and basins! Of course my attempt is quit far from his luminous marble, but I tried
