Description
This Myst-related project has required an insane amount of miniaturisation. Here's just a couple of examples.Top left: A power supply consisting of two double-sided multi-layer PCBs sandwiched together, with chips on all four sides. Provides 4 different output voltages simultaneously with 94% efficiency. Compare this in size to 4 wall-wart power supplies.
Top right: A power cable that originally plugged into a USB port. I didn't have space for another USB plug (or even somewhere to stash the looped cable) so I cut it off & wired it directly into the +5V & ground lines.
Lower left: Another USB cable, but this one was shortened to under 20cm/8". The plug was still too big so the insulation around the head was cut right back, allowing the cable to make a tighter turn.
Lower right: A male:male 15-pin adaptor plug. Around a tenth the size of a single normal 15-pin plug you see on the end of a cable, yet there's two plugs in this one.
The most important part of this photo is the fact that two of these things were still too large. I couldn't spare even the width of the adapter plug in the lower right so I had to resolder the plug's terminals, and the power cable in the upper right was still too large to fit (even with the unneeded cable just looped around).

I can't wait to see this finished! I totally (think) I know what it is, and I can't wait to see it finished in addition to your implementation!

Intriguing.
I am very interested in seeing what your plans are.
