Description
This guy was actually done a while back, but was set aside for aΒ while. So I've recently added the wing membrane and finally finishing it. This dragon skeleton has fully posable joints down to every joint in his fingers and the jaw. He was a pain in my behind but an enjoyable experiance non the less.He is able of far more extreme poses than this but I have played with him in the past and the wire can only take so much of abuse, I diden't want to risk breaking them just for the sake of a few pictures. I'd rather take that chance and pose him in nature somewhere and at least getΒ more interesting photos out of it.

I haven't found a clay that would be durable enough for that
maybe some other epoxy's but I haven't really worked with any to know ^^'

That is so AWESOME! The way you made him to be so poseable is incredible! The skeleton is well proportioned and full of detail. The wings are what really impressed me. That membrane is so cool, what did you use and how did you attach it to wing/dragon?

Thank you! I had tons of fun with this one. I've always been fascinated with poseable sculptures, and skulls as well ^^ so I understand you there. You're so lucky. As much as I would love to own skulls as well, I kind of dont have any room where to put them. I barely find the space for my art supplies and artistic works
I bet this guy would feel right at home there XD

This is pretty cool!! The detail is amazing - it's just so complex! And the posability - phemomenal!!!
Might I ask what kind of clay he is made from? I make furry posable creatures and I use polymer clay, and I have developed a special workaround because bending wire directly embedded in the clay cracks it. I'm currisous as to why that did not happen for you, especially since the bones are so delicate! Was it an epoxy putty by any chance?

Thank you very much! It's a SECRET! Muahaha >:-D
No not really I actually experimented when I tried this and had no idea of it's durability. I mixed saw dust (wood dust) with wood glue (white glue / PVAc glue). The result was a super strong product, I love it but it sticks to hands a lot so it's a bit tricky to work with XD Mixing white paint in it gives it the beige colour otherwise its dark brown but it also makes it more bendy (I don't like it bendy :<)
How about the plushies you make? Id love to know what you use to colour them?
You should cover the faces with fur as well, Then they'd really look real

Saw dust and glue! Not what I was expecting. Pretty cool though!
I'm working my way up to furred faces. At the very least I'm getting the blend to work pretty well!
As to what I color them with... that is a secret now. Not a very well kept one, though... the answer is out there.

I happened to have some saw dust at hand and tried it out XD
That would definitely breathe another spark of life in to the figures ^^ good luck with that!
Aww, I'm aware people use textile dyes, airbrush or acrylics. I just don't know which sticks best

I will say that regular acrylics have not worked for me, and I have never used an airbrush to date.

My mindcdncache1-a.akamaihd.net/items⦠" style="border: none !important; display: inline-block !important; text-indent: 0px !important; float: none !important; font-weight: bold !important; height: 10px !important; margin: 0px 0px 0px 3px !important; min-height: 0px !important; min-width: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; vertical-align: super !important; width: 10px !important; text-transform: uppercase !important; background: transparent !important;"> is blown, this is so cool. Even if it was a stationary piece without any flex to it I'd be impressed, but the posability (pliability? You know what I mean) of it makes it that much more incredible. Sorry to be so useless but I can't muster a critique just yet, I'm still too impressed!

Umm...What? XD I'm sorry but is the first half supposed to be emoticons? if so, then something must have went wrong because I see lines of gibberish text
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it ^^ I love the idea of a moving skeleton even if it is more fragile than ordinary poseable sculptures (plushies)
