Description
Intermediate Modeling, kinetic machine project.Unsmoothed version of the model was about 221,000 triangles, smoothed version was approx 1,200,000 triangles.
Modeled in 5 days with Maya 7.0
Rendered with mental ray.

Are you taking classes for this or just doing this on your own? I went to the art institute of Dallas for this kind of stuff but haven't been posting my 3d work on here. You're actually kind of motivating me to do so.

in the moview the parts were more shiny, not more reflective, and the retrace should be more blury, thas more metallic

I've always wondered how that thing is even powered, where would teh guy in the movie find a power source strong enough to power that thing? hes in the 1890s

It was steam powered, hence the steam gauges, and the steam spray that hit the morloch leader in the face during the fight inside the time machine
