According to Clarke, the best way to hide a dragon egg... was if there wasn't an egg anymore. And so the idea of hatching the little creature was brought to the table. Titus, as always, advised against it- anything new could possibly put Heda in danger (and since Clarke was helping, it was an automatic no in his book), but in the end the Commander and Wanheda won the argument. Which brought the task of finding a great enough heat source to incubate the scaley egg.
"Are you sure we don't need more candles, Clarke?"
"No Lexa. I'm already drowning in them."
