i just did with that both way, and i don't know, is there another procedure to make it or no?...u should make experiment if u want to make speed up the process of make it.

u can use Rectangular marque tool, then u fill it with color, then erase the part of it...

hey sorry man i just read this i used Photoshop Cs4, and i used pen tool or u can use Rectangular marque tool, then u fill it with color, then erase the part of it, and don't forget to change the layer mode to be "screen"

Sorry just log on my deviantart thanks, first, i used softbrush, and choose a diameter/brush size that u want, then erase the part of brush. if u want to know more, i'll give u the psd file
