To get the time in 12 Hrs Clock:

// Convert the hours component to 12-hour format if needed
currentHours = ( currentHours > 12 ) ? currentHours - 12 : currentHours;


To get the time in 24 Hrs Clock:

// Convert the hours component to 12-hour format if needed
// currentHours = ( currentHours > 12 ) ? currentHours - 12 : currentHours;


When on 24 Hrs clock you want to blank out the AM/PM displaystring
