Mr. Peabody looked up at you with sad eyes. He was embarrassed with himself for getting trapped he was ashamed. His ears drooped and he tried to break eye contact. As you bent down, he looked at you again. When you welcomed him with open arms, he slowly got up. He took small steps toward you, until he was between the open embrace. It wasn't moments until you closed your arms around him and felt his soft fur. He was shivering a little, but as each second went by of your embrace, he began to calm down and let you hold on to him. He was soft and pressed himself to you and returned the hug. With a wagging tail, 'thank you' was the only thing he said as you two held on to each other.

Mr. Peabody rested his chin on your shoulder and closed his eyes. Your embrace made the tightness he felt before loosen. He was happy that you cared for him. He was happy for your comfort.

You then notice that Peabody had fell asleep in your embrace. He was tired from today's trauma. He left out steady small breaths that blew warm air on your backs. You know he's happy because his tail is still wagging. He is holding on to you begging you not to let go. Not now. You stand up cradling the small bundle of fur. You take him to his room and carry him to bed. Resting the small beagle, down on his bed made him smile from the familiar smell of home. You remove his glasses and bowtie and lay them on his night stand. The last thing you do is put the blanket over him. He gives a small breathe as he falls asleep.

He smiled and curled under the his blanket. He's happy that your smell is still lingering. He had the same sense when he could still smell Sherman, something he loved and cherished. The beagle felt that same snuggle when he was a puppy. His mom would always lay with him and comfort his poor heart after every rejection came from each child. He could have stayed with the hug if he wanted to. For now, he would stay in his deep slumber and in rest of his mattress. The day was hard and frightful, but the night was his joy for now.
