Description Angel

RIP Farrah

Part 2 of Classic Pinups in Vector.
One of the most recognizable pinups from the late '70's. Farrah's spontaneous bubbly personality shines through.

My favorite Angel.

All vector, done in Illustrator CS3, using pen and pencil tools.

The hair and clothes (folds, and color tones) are amazing. If any critique at all the features in the face (mainly the right side of her face) seem to be a little harsh compared to the rest of the image. Great job over all though.

I was really saddened by her death, and what she had been going through for the last few years. May you rest in peace Farrah.

Beautiful work!

As horrible as it sounds, its probably best that she passed. She was suffering for a long time. May she rest in peace.

I hate to see someone suffer as well, I know she is at peace now. I thought she was getting better, then got worse, I felt terrible for her.
Thank You so much for the feature! I appreciate it!

Very impressive, and yes, the hair is very well done. Except I'm puzzled as to why you colored it red when Farrah is blonde.
Also, kudos on the swimsuit folds. Well done.

The Hair is awesome! Do you use just the pen tool or a combination of pen & pencil for the hair? I am working on my first portrait in Illustrator, and the hair is giving me fits.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

rjonesdesign In reply to Fatalbreed [2009-01-15 22:53:10 +0000 UTC]

I use only the pen tool to keep my points nice and clean. It takes far longer for just the hair than anything else. Just put on some tunes and be patient, the outcome will be well worth the extra effort!

I had one of these myself back in the day.

I think this may have been the start of the "big hair" of the 80's. A lot of girls had huge curls!

Thanks for stopping by!
