Well done, the Macaw especially looks detailed, same with the flowers. It's good how the background is more simpler though, it contrasts against the higher details on the main subject

awesome work I love the textures and the scenery! Also love the macaw giving the gesture with its foot.
I am just now learning how to create more complicated vectors without just tracing/manipluating and simplifying an image.(I am mostly trained as a traditional artist) Hopefully I'll be as good as you are some day at vectoring.

I love Jimmy Buffet! mmmmm, pina coladas. Have you heard the song Fruitcakes?
I will be doing a few tutorials soon for Illustrator! The first will be digital inking, then coloring.

i like the shadowing or outer glow/drop shadow, helps give some depth with the image, rather than flat 1 dimensional

Looks awesome! Though, there seems to be a small bit of tree missing near the top - the sky is showing through. Other than that, this is practically flawless!

Most of that part didnt actually print, there was a "cutout" right there where a bill validator goes. A lot of times, I will just draw enough back there so it doesnt look weird as a whole.......
Had I left a blank square there, my client would never had approved it, as it is hard for them to imagine something is there.....

I thought you drew this. I looked up the word Vexel and found out it is tracing.

I used a photograph as reference for the bird, not all vexels are "tracings," in fact the term vexel doesn't describe whether it's a tracing or not, but how the file is created (i.e. vector or bitmap), and whether they pixelate when enlarged. My files are vector illustrations with vexel elements added (drop shadows, outer glows).

Sorry but I based what I learned abut vexels from Wikipedia:
The popularity of vexels stems from the fact that traced vexel requires very little drawing ability to create good-looking images. Also, with the advent of the Internet, 300 dpi is no longer considered a must in amateur digital art. 72 dpi is considered sufficient for most vexels, since it will not appear in print in most cases. Indeed, since most vexels are tracings, printed versions would likely constitute copyright infringement, unless the use of the image fell under fair use (in the United States).
While "vexel" is used and accepted in a relatively narrow, self-described "vexel" community, the art and general worlds have not embraced it as warmly, mostly because it refers to a body of work mostly revolving around DeviantArt [9] and Vexels.Net [10] and because of the workflow by which most vexel art is created.
**********************************************************************************
If tracing is what people need to do to get what they are looking for then so be it. In a world where the math teacher teaches students how to use a calculator more than how to add 1 and 1 I cannot say anything negative about those who trace. Your pictures looks great. how you did them is no concern of mine. keep up the good work

Very nice. Very well done. I particularly like the "hang loose" hand gesture the parrot is giving.

Thank You! I wanted to do something different from just a parrot, and it fit well into the surfing theme the client wanted.
