Description A new digital painting. For this piece I focused on speed and efficiency of my work. I tend to take a month or more on my pieces. This one was probably just shy of 4-5hrs of work. I tend to be around 12-18hrs normally.

The painting was first sketched in the Brushes 3 app for iPhone, and then imported into Photoshop CS6, where I did all the detail and compositing work.

This is a very wonderful piece of work. I love the thought, detail, and work put into this. The fact that the surrounding trees are blurred, as if the picture is a camera focusing on something beyond them, is a very proffessional quality. Another would be the fact that the masterfully created lighting, from the misty feel, to the specks of light blowing from the subject tree. The way that the tree glows, matched with the way the flecks of light slowly morph into the little circles like the ones you would see in a camera while focusing, or while pointed at a light, gives the illusion of photography. the only thing I might think to call out in error is the little shrub by the tree. The blurriness there shifts quite suddenly into clarity. Other than this, though, the piece is a magnificent work, and I am glad to have chanced upon it. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Excellent job on improving your speed! 4-5 hours to creat such piece is a great timing, at least from my point of view.
I love how your piece looks like a photo. One must look hard to see that it's a painted picture.
The color theme is really consistent and well-balanced, it really makes the overall mood. The center element catches the eye from the first second yet doesn't feel cut out from the background.
Also, the detailing is nice, i love how you thought about little flames and spots of black on the tree to make it look realistic.
I wish there will be more details to the background rather than just blur, it feels a little empty to me.
Thank you for reading the critique and have lots of success in your artistic growth. good luck! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Seriously, it's like you have a camera focused on the tree, SO COOL!

It looks really nice (I notice you requested critique) The only thing I would add to this would be a light shadow under the island that the tree is on to give it a little bit more depth there
