Description
I'm about to fly to the UK for my vacation, so here's a picture of an American locomotive before my gallery starts looking more British in a couple of weeks. Clinchfield Railroad "Ten-Wheeler" 4-6-0 steam locomotive No. 1, which the Columbus, Chicago and Indiana Central Railway (CC&IC) built at their Logansport workshop in 1882 as No. 423 following a Pennsylvania Railroad design, sits in the Mount Clare Roundhouse at the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. From 1968 to 1979, she ran railfan excursion trains as the oldest operating American steam locomotive, but her frame cracked, so the Family Lines railroads (Clinchfield + Seaboard + Louisville & Nashville) had her cosmetically restored and donated to the museum in 1981.Related content

To all fans of the Clinchfield, the "One And Only" will always be a shining star in their eyes.
