Description
These two models of similarly-classified U.S. Navy Cold War-era jet fighters were on display at the Shizuoka Hobby Show. On the left is a two-man supersonic McDonnell F-4J Phantom II from the Vietnam War. On the right is a North American FJ-4 Fury, a carrier-based version of the Korean War-era F-86 Sabre. In 1962, the American military imposed a single aircraft-classification system on all branches of service.Related content
