I used to love that plane, so far ahead if its time when introduced! It even carried its missiles inside the fuselage like the Stealthy F-22 does now!

yes, with a new fanjet engine and a double-delta wing planform. it would work too.

But I am concerned about the final number produced of my new current and head over heels favorite, The Raptor. With 184 now delivered of the approved 187, and, Congressional approval nearly halted last month for any more, it looks like that may be it for a while! Hopefully not, because all but the C Models of the F-15 Eagle are still grounded, due to the Dorsal spines cracking in the earlier models after flying so many years! Given the F-22 was to replace the Eagle, and the Nighthawk, and others as well, I don't think 187 planes is enough! After all, they only cost 138 million per plane, a real bargain compared to the 1.2 billion for a B-2 Spirit! But look how the FA-18 stayed alive and evolved and improved to replace the Tomcat!

too much to pay for such a small end-result. BTW,the latest per-copy sticker price i heard of was about 350M for each F-22. B-2 cost approx. 2.5B each.

Yike those puppies, gone up! the Raptor doubled!
the Spirit figure I had was close to the same!
But look at the price of a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread, they have doubled as well in the last 2 years!

Nicely done. I put an F-106 together last year (1/48 scale). Unfortunately, I lost the decals that go on the tail, and my mom accidently broke the pitot boom off of the nosecone (who knows where it is now...).

I've got several other models I need to put together, such as an XB/YB-35 (1/72), a Mig-25 (1/72) and a Mig-21 (1/48). I just haven't felt like modeling in a while...

you could probably replace that pitot probe with a large steel needle. just remember to heat it red-hot for a more authentic burnt-metal appearance. real pitot tubes are usually electrically heated and the metal becomes a bit discolored from it. and there should be some aftermarket decals available for the kit as well,Revell-Monogram 1/48.
