Description
"But many miles from nowhere out where all the tracks are goneA man who's got himself a dream can still keep goin' on"
- Marty Robbins, "A Man and a Train" (Emperor of the North OP)
Even though I took a few train rides around South Korea this year, I was not able to travel very often, and with many museums being closed I was able to see only one steam locomotive. Korean Government Railways ミカサ129 (Kisha Seizō 1945, 1940) → Korean National Railroad 미카3-129, one of almost 400 "Mikasa" (Mikado Type 3) standard-gauge 2-8-2s designed by Japan for occupied Korea, is displayed at Dajeon National Cemetery's Patriotic Railroad Exhibition to commemorate her service in the Korean War. I took a few pictures of her facing the semaphore at the end of her short track when I visited Daejeon on 2021/09/18. Hopefully next year will bring more opportunities for me to realize my interests as a railfan, and I already have some plans in my head depending on time, money, and regulations turning out favorably...
