Description
Pan Am's two most famous jetliners were both four-engine Boeing planes: the Boeing 707, for which Pan Am became the "launch customer" in 1958, and the jumbo Boeing 747, for which Pan Am became the "launch customer" in 1970. Following in the tradition of the old Pan Am flying boats, each jetliner was named [xxx] Clipper. Models of both are on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force (Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio).
