Description I started out in 40k as an Imperial Guard player.  I bought a box of Cadians and painted them, then fought Gray Knights and Space Wolves in what would be a sub-Kill Team sized battle today.

Then I added Metaparaxis the Enginseer, who deployed in every battle alongside this regiment and never once got removed as a casualty, despite engaging Terminators in melee.  (Power axes and servo arms are +STR AP2 weapons...)

I still have boxes of unassembled and unpainted guardsmen because of the sheer time sink required to get them together.

The Penal trooper Beastmen had always been part of my planned regiment, but they were not made until this year (after penal legions were removed from the IG Codex).

The Chimera was my first vehicle.  It has been wrecked several times, including on its first appearance on the battlefield.

The Basilisk was a birthday present, and has never been wrecked, despite making things... difficult for the enemy.

The tanks were secondhand salvage, bought off of somebody with no further interest in Guard.  I still need to highlight a few rivets on the Baneblade 'Zirahan' and to paint the hull of the Leman Russ 'Cong'.  (Not to mention reattach the commander's head and the storm bolter)

Poor Melvin there on the left irritates Smape Marine players for some reason, with one even declaring that one of their objectives was to kill him.  Melvin is just a guardsman with a lasgun, he just has a knack for making SM players want him dead.

Somewhere in this picture are three special characters - I'll give you one for free, Kemp the Understudy counts as an Officer of the Fleet.  Hiding in there is a Yarrick substitution and an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor.  Plus one of the Commissariat was made from tanker parts.

I actually have an Inquisitor and another Commissar unpainted in their original packaging.  I should probably get around to painting them sometime.

I never intended to use the Sentinel when I bought the battleforce box.  But when I did the math, it was cheaper to buy the battleforce and get a free sentinal than to buy the boxes I was going to use.  So I put it down to the Munitorum shipping it to the wrong Guardsman Burke.  One more lascannon on the field isn't so bad.

I finally have a legal regiment for the standard 5th, 6th & 7th ed rules - just in time for GW to put out 8th...

Have you made a story on Metaparaxis the Enginseer? From what I read he could be quite a badass character though with possibility to be a dick, cause, techpriest. Also what is that about you giving one special character for free, you mean it for real?

No, no, I was asking people to guess which ones were hiding in there.  "I'll give you one for free" was "one answer for free".  Sorry about that.

Metaparaxis appears in "Burns" (as a cameo) "Oris" (as a character) and "Graves Registration" (as a character)  He is the main character of the unposted now posted story "Pym's Overlook", which was not that good.

Man, from reading the stories Metaparaxis seems like a cyborg Rambo. XD

He defeated terminator marines in Tabletop - then followed it up in the next game by erasing a crusader squad trying to take out my left flank.
