When I was looking through the chart for the animes coming in the Fall season, I came across Infinite Stratos 2, I found myself interested in watching it so I watched the 1st season. I gotta say, it's not half bad, there are times when this show could've been better. It's pretty interesting to see an anime set in a future where women are literally more important in society then men(because of one significant event). Not saying women aren't important, I don't wanna sound sexist cause I'm not, but in this show they actually are because they are able to do something men aren't.I also like the clear as day references to Gundam, which is my all time favorite Anime franchise.
If you do want to watch it, I suggest you watch the English Dub. My reason for suggesting that is between the sub and dub, the dub actually gives it's characters accents. By that I mean, a British girl sounds British, a French girl sounds French and a German girl sounds German.
My favorite character is probably Laura Bodewig and Cecilia(who kinda reminds me of Juvia from Fairy Tail).

I agree that season one was okay, but season two was decent enough but left with too many unanswered questions, which I'm probably certain is in the source material.

I will never agree with those who say Ichika is dense. And those same people say they'd take advantage of the situation if they were in his shoes, which is foolish. To do that, you have to fully put yourself in his situation, the world that IS is set in is way different than ours. The entire social paradigm alone is different.
I always say that Ichika isn't dense, but rather overly considerate.

Maybe. But a lot of people are complaining about him because he doesn't understand a woman's feelings. And I can understand that and relate since personally, I never understood women at all, feelings and whatnot. Hell, I've held feelings for some but decided not to make the first move since I soon realize that I was not meant to be with a significant other.
And considering the situation Ichika is in and the conflict he has socially, I understand it. He doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings which is why he hasn't made the first move and why he isn't willing to get a GF. I guess if there were more males in the IS world, then it may lighten the mood. But to the people who say they take advantage of the situation, they're only talking about it for sex, no love. Although not everyone is like that.

I'm quite annoyed, though, that the last three episodes have completely abandoned the novels. The "teaching Cecilia to cook" episode wasn't in the novels. And they never took a field trip to Kyoto and got attacked by Phantom Task.
In Volume 8, the United States military sent an IS and a Navy SEAL team to attack the academy when someone else hacked it. All the girls had to "mind upload" into the academy's computer (like Tron lol) and fix the problem while Chifuyu, Maya, & Tatenashi fought off the Americans.
For some reason, the anime decided to replace that with "let's go to Kyoto!" Oh well, we'll see if the last episode delivers. Madoka's never got her new "Black Knight" IS in the novels so I have no idea what it can do. Should be interesting...

So expect to see Tatenashi fighting SEALs and Chifuyu solo-ing an IS on foot.

I've read all the novels and I still have no idea. The author is really really really milking this franchise. A typical volume is 80% fanservice/romantic comedy and maybe 20% action/plot.
The only thing I do know is who that girl talking to Tabane was, but even then I only know her name. I don't know how she met Tabane, why she sticks with her, or what she wants.

Theo only thing I've got off of Madoka is that she has some connection with Ichika and Chifuyu, but I can't quite pinpoint what exactly the connection is.
As for that 3rd question, I do have a small theory on that, and it's that I think Tabane purposely made the IS only be able to be piloted by females, but also anyone with the same genetic make up of the Orimura's, in this case Ichika.

I really hate the 'stuck up royalty' type characters, especially british ones! And yes, her punching everyone is pretty funny, except for the couple times she wants to punch with her IS unit.
