woooootttt????.... you change my Ariel?, AGHHHHH!! NOOOO!!!,
nahh, just kiddin´,XD XD got cha!, well, i don´t want to be rude, you know that for sure, but the hair its kinda... copy and paste, looks weird, the eye brows looks so weird too and the skin looks dirty whitout any texture correction. her smile looks more big and this way she lost something about her personality, i know i know. Ariel has a big smile but that works fine in a cartoon, alas... i didn´t based her face on anybody, i worked from 0, just taking the reference of the screen cap. (that was a nightmare!, i made thousands of versions, and about illumination, light from the right, the left, above, shines and reflections, etc etc... but just a little light change and EWW! she lost her personality, i think this is why i choose to make a more clean and soft face, and not so realistic as Elsa. (damn!... Ariel is soooo dificult!, bcuz she had the most perfect face structure and expression) the only thing i´m not so sure about it, it´s her left eye, looks kinda weird, duuhh!. now... your edit it´s not bad, the face indeed looks more realistic, more larger than short, the blush in her cheeks (did i said it right?..) make her more sweet, anyway... i´m so flattered!, really, all i have to say it´s go on!. i´m still working in a perfect realistic Ariel, as if she indeed comes to life. oh by the way... i based Elsa a lot more on Elsa Hosk than RHurdwood but i think the shadows changed the whole structure. maybe i´ll post the original sketch before any color or effect.

uh oh!... sorry!, about the eye, i didn´t mean your edit but about mine. i still look at it and i feel there´s something weird in her look.
i know for a lot of friends, they like Sophia Lillis as Ariel, but... mneh!... sorry but i don´t like her as Ariel, of course i like her a lot, she is so damn sexy, but for me she is nothing alike to Ariel, i don´t know, most bcuz her nose i think, her eyes are tiny, the same her lips and the face structure. the same with Susan Dey. sweet face but not likeAriel.
i think most people takes literally the cartoon forms, but a cartoon or 3d face it´s just a representation, not to take it literally, ya know, bcuz all those characters have the same idealistic forms, big almond eyes, thin lips, rounded face. when i work on a face i try to go beyond that, i look at the true personality of the character, not just at one static moment in one frame or screencap, but the whole expresion, when they talk, or make a nod or gesture. Keane´s or merchandise version are different, but both of them have the same spirit, and that´s what i want to capture. for example, Anna"s face in the portrait, i didn´t take just one pic for reference... i watched the movie and frozen fever over and over again. pheewww!!!... it´s so difficult no doubt about it. i think my most acurated version it´s Ariel holding the flower, ya know... still looks kinda irreal, but for the moment for me it´s the best.
well... but thanks so much for the refferences!. i want to study Sophia´s smile, and that expression of Amy and the others, thanks again!. and... AHEM!, about her left eye, maybe you can help me to find what´s wrong in there. i´m still working in an updated version, but the more i change her look, the more i don´t like the result. XD. it´s kinda frustrating...
