Technically, princess of the sea. Her father's King Triton, remember?

As Anonymous said, Denmark. There's even a statue of her there.Β
And this crossover actually makes sense unlike the Tarzan one.Β

Denmark. She's from a Kingdom in Denmark. Between Norway (Arendelle is the southern part) and Germany (Corona is the northern part).

What about the fish in her movie? They don't match the ones that actually live on Denmark.

Triton's magical kingdom. How else can Mickey, Donald, and Goofy attend his concert?
...Magic is the answer to everything unexplained, isn't it?
Then again, Hans Christian Anderson, the creator of The Little Mermaid, is from Denmark. And the statue of said Mermaid is in... Denmark.

Good point, if the architecture and status of Kingdom matched up. While the Egeskov and Kronborg Castles of Denmark can be considered similar, it seems the true inspiration comes from Switzerland and Wales. Switzerland is landlocked, so it can't be Ariel's homeland.
Further information has creators specifying a Mediteranean setting, but with WAY too much Scandinavian and Danish influence. Also, Eric was supposed to marry the Princess of Glowerhaven, which is a naming convention only used in northern Europe. Seems like a far way to go for a political marriage; most are between nearby or neighboring countries.

Okay, that person made a few great points. However, I do see a couple problems.
First off, Triton is a figure from Greek Mythology. Unless Percy Jackson is Disney Canon, the Greek Gods stayed relatively local to Greece or Europe. More references to Greek Mythology are present in the TV series; Charybdis, grandpa Neptune, and a kingdom called Olympia being the most obvious.
Second, Glaurhaven. Only norther/island nations of Europe use such terminology to name places. I doubt a political wedding between an official kingdom in the Caribbean based on Danish colonization and a princess from near Arendelle will be feasible or logical. Speaking of Arendelle, didn't they call the Enchanted Forest "Misthaven", in a similar way? Also, Glaur is a Scottish word meaning mud or slime; again tying the political landscape of Prince Eric to northern Europe.
Third, again with the political landscape. Cinderella's father-in-law attended Eric's wedding. While them arriving even in Denmark within a day (since Vanessa showed up) isn't possible, there is another explanation. That statue of Eric was supposed to be a wedding present, and said wedding wouldn't have been planned for that same day but later. If Grimsby was certain enough of a wedding to make a statue, why not send invites as well? Who wants to claim that the relations between Caribbean and French kingdoms were strong enough that he would attend Eric's wedding, and can make it there within a week?
Fourth, in the animated series, Ariel meets Hans Christian Anderson in a sunken submarine, and the show also cameos Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Beethoven. Have they visited the Caribbean? And the clams know about the Dead Sea, which is relatively close to Europe, and Ariel has visited the North Pole; much closer to Denmark than the Caribbean.
