Agreed -- When I first saw The Avengers ("Murdersville"; 5.23) episode, I found this scene to be arousing, rather than terrifying (of course, deep down viewers *knew* that no actual harm would befall Emma Peel).
There was the defiant Mrs. Peel, clad in a snugly-fitted bright-colored outfit, strapped by her wrists, ankles, and belly to the dunker. And when she emerges, rather than looking a disheveled mess, she looks like she's emerged from a pool or a bath.

That's the way I was when I watched Wonder Woman, The Bionic Woman, or Charlie's Angels as well as The Avengers. No matter what peril the heroine faced you know she's escape without any real harm. Plus they all looked great and dressed sexy.
