Other notes:

They didn't say how he was injured, so I just kind of made up one? It's not really obvious but the 3rd to last panel of the last comic was actually him hitting his head on the fence by being shoved into it. So it's kind of fitting he got an injury!

Story:
"I've had better" he sighed. His muscles were still taut and ready to run, but he didn't feel like trying to escape again. This shimmery barrier was misleading, and his face had already taken the unfortunate brunt of it. Resigning to hold his spot here, he glanced her way and was again lured in by her scrumptious eyes. They reminded him of something, something pleasant, certainly. Although his every fiber stood on end in this foul place, she felt like the sun filtered through the trees, warming his hide. After pausing a moment, he ventured a question, "..What is this place?" dipping his head to meet her gaze.
"I've only narrowly escaped this before, I'm not quite sure. None of the mares here seem to know either." She shrugged her shoulder nonchalantly. She scanned the herd on his side of the fence. "What was your... dispute about?" nodding towards the black bachelor who had slipped to the far side of Moran's pen. Following her gaze, he rolled his eyes back to her with a huff. "Just a revolting traitor." and seeing the continued question in her eye, he continued. "He said he knew the way to lose them. Led me straight here... And I was daft enough to believe him." He sighed. Letting some of the tension in his shoulders go. Furrowing his brow "It just felt like that this was what he wanted.." He said under his breath, not meant for others to hear but the mare was alert. Considering his face, she replied "I've heard of lone horses doing that before, leading entire horses to their capture like this. Didn't know if it was real." Looking across the fence again, the mare's eyes seemed to linger on the black once again. If one really could, a spike of jealousy shot through Moran like a bullet. Lifting his tail ever so slightly and flexing instinctually, Moran had to catch himself before he got too carried away about this mare quite clearly out of reach. Talking himself down, he'd almost argued himself out of it when she spoke again. "I don't think he'll be trying you again." said with a smile, a cute glint in her eye made him look back to the black. With Moran's gaze on him, the speckled bachelor flinched and ducked out of sight, moving his neck stiffly from the rough bite from earlier. The pair shared a slight chuckle at the expense of the humbled stallion. Moran was just satiated that she wasn't turned off by his discipline to the other stallion. Some mares got quite offended by physical lessons like that. She didn't seem to be that way. Looking back into her eyes, he could tell what they reminded him of now, that of the crystalline sap on a pine. Thinking of that, he could almost smell the forest, and that pained him. If only to be hidden amongst the woods, out of sight and not bothered by the creepy flying creatures. Here an unfamiliar scent hung in the air. The whole area reeked of predators, but it was foreign to Moran's nose.
"...Yes?" her feminine voice cut through his reverie, bringing him back to the mare over the fence. He'd apparently been staring at her. "Oh, sorry. I was thinking somewhere else." "I could see that." she suppressed a small smile. He was certainly a very literal gentleman.
"Miss, if I may ask, what is your name?" Slightly taken aback by his diction, she hesitated to answer. "My name is Tallulah. And what is yours?" His ears seemed to drink in her name. It was a name he'd never thought pretty until this moment. It seemed eloquently fitting. Flickering his eyes, he came back to this realm to finally answer. "I am called Moran." "Nice to meet you, Moran. It seems like a mighty name." A swell of warmth came over his chest, his name was rather odd and unique, and to see she approved of a name so personally chosen by his dam, he was pleased. "It is my pleasure indeed, miss." He bobbed his head courteously.
After a while her eyes began to dim, lids sinking lower. Moran didn't think much of it, so he merely scanned her yard, it too seemed inescapable. His attention came back to her when her body began to sway ever so slightly. He didn't think much of it, some horses didn't lock their legs well enough before drifting off. "My, has it gotten hot out." her voice quivered uncharacteristically. Her head had continue to sink and now her legs buckled. It was a rather sudden lay down. Her spirit seemed to diffuse out of her leaving only a shell of the mare from before. "Hey, are you alright?" When her eyelids only twitched at his words, his blood began to pump fiercely in his ears. And they were separated by this cursed silver thing! Snaking his head through the fence, he nibbled her mane, trying to wake her even slightly. Moving down he nudged her shoulder gently, and this procured a small moan from her. That was better. "Miss, I hate to rouse you but you seem unwell. You need to stay awake." Again bumping her shoulder(this time a bit harder), his muzzle came to rest on her neck, and he could feel how hot she truly was. Her fur had hardened, obviously she'd been lathered up. She'd been run hard. "Ah, Miss, are you alright?" No response. Their separation was even more infuriating now than before. If they were on the range, he'd force her to get up, to go to a creek or some such. But here, he had no way of assisting her. Seeing her pink hide bake in the sun, Moran was overcome with rage at this wretched fence, whatever it was. It stayed there resolutely refusing his assisting her! For no reason at all!
When he could stand it no longer, he stepped out in front, letting his long shadow cast a reprieve from the harsh mid-day sun. In a few minutes he could see her lip begin to twitch, a small sign of recovery. A few more minutes and her eyes started to  open. She was no longer being drained of all energy from the sun. It was quite some time before she finally flashed her eye wide and blinked at her wildly stimulating environment. Much like a foal, she roused to her surroundings progressively. And came to find that the cool shade in the middle of a comfortless paddock was a tall stallion standing resolutely as her shade. She blinked hard again, trying to be sure she saw it right. With a deeply masculine voice he snapped her eyes back to his face.  "Are you feeling better?" Ducking his head to see her eye-to-eye. His deep, entrancing eyes seemed to envelop her. "I think it's thanks to you." she smiled gratefully up at him. "I haven't' kept you here long, have I?" she ventured gingerly. It was rather embarrassing to have practically fainted in this guy's lap, she hoped it hadn't been long. "Not at all. You were merely resting. The sun seemed to have taken a toll on you" He reassured her, it was nothing at all. Pulling her feet out from under her, she came to stand, and shook the dust from her coat. "Well good then, I'm glad I didn't keep you long. You didn't have to but I appreciate you looking after me. Usually I'm not so weak." she smiled sheepishly. He shook his head, he hardly did anything.
She couldn't remember, but if she could she would realize how much lower the sun was in the sky. "I saw some water over there before, maybe the old mares have filled up now..." she chattered on. Her embarrassment was fading, but she really did need to walk this off. Her legs were still shaky, but she needed water dearly. She didn't mean to keep an eye on him, but he did slowly walk along the fence after her. It warmed her heart in a small way. Breathing the jitters out, she waded through the mares, slowly making her way to the trough. Moran seemed to also slow as he neared horses on his side of the fence, but she still kept an ear trained towards him. Dipping her lips into the cool water, she knew life was worth living again. As the water flowed down her throat she could finally breath easily again, her thoughts calmed and she seemed to become herself once more. When she'd had her fill and then some, she raised her head over the herd of estrogen, and found herself looking for the bay dun beyond. Swiveling his head back her way, their gazes met and she instinctively breathed a little easier.

No problem! I've been super curious how Moran gets out of this captured situation.

Can't wait to see/read what happens next.
