my entry to WarriorsGoingGlobal 's contest! the theme was your favorite moment from a clan leader!

i chose to do the scene at the end of the manga in crookedstar's promise, where crookedstar finally frees himself of mapleshade. i wanted to do a scene with crookedstar because hes my favorite cat in the entire series, and he has been for seven years. crookedstar's promise is also my favorite super edition! when i read the book/manga way back in 2012, this scene just floored 13 y/o me. it was so.....empowering seeing crookedstar finally tell mapleshade off and free himself of her torment. he went through so much in his life, and seeing him finally break away from that and come to peace was so satisfying. i still remember this scene so well even after all these years. this art is a tribute to my favorite cat.

this was a blast to make, so even if i dont win, thats ok!! i just love crookedstar a lot lmao
