Description Good friends of mine recently got married in Mozambique, they had a pro shooting their wedding so i decided to shoot a little differently. Fyi - the white spec in-between them is the moon, but was shooting with a wide lens.

I guess it's impossible to shoot with anything but wide for this shot, unless you dug a hole 50 or 100 feet deep into the earth. Would have been cool to get a bigger moon though, but then you would have only gotten the heads and shoulders.

ya indeed.. it was wide and hanging low from my hand .. i shot it quickly while the actual wedding photographer was busy with his rig, i prefer shooting paparazzi style
i had fun with the wide, i wanted to give them soming different rather than the traditional weddign photographer shots since they had that covered.

I guess i could shop in a moon that i shot on 500mm

Wow man I'm impressed Great job! I'm only familiar with HDR from several shots. Is HDR from one shot hard at all?

thanks M8.. not at all, if your shooting raw then you got enough info to work with..
Really easy (and you will kick yourself when you hear how its done )

when u open your file in PS( RAW option of course) just set your exposure up 2 stops and -2 stops, save em out and walla you have your 3 multiple exposures. However this isnt true HDR its known as Pseudo-hdr i find (like this shot) if you have great lighting and are able to capture as much details as possible then you can do some really great single shot HDR's
however check out my Cabin in Minnesota [link] this was one of my first attempts at it.

Hope that helps

you got a sweet gallery by the way.

Thanks man I appreciate it! That doesn't sound too hard either! When you're adjusting the exposures and saving them separately what file type do you save them as? TIFF? I've heard of people having trouble because the software looks at the exif data and realizes that all 3 are from the same exposure and won't blend them as an HDR. Have you had that trouble?

And dude your gallery is amazing too! A watch for sure Thanks for helping!

hey bro, apologies for my late reply. I was in Mexico for a week and was unplugged the entire time ..
yeah its super easy. you def want to save it out as a tiff 16 bit.. so make sure when u are importing your RAW files that they are 16 bit when u bring into PS (after the RAW editing)
I havent had that issue at all, im using photomatix pro, but make sure you rename them differently (ofcourse) for eg high, mid, shadow.. or whatever works for you.

not sure what else as that works for me.

thanks for the ~watch much appreciated.

drop me a line if you have any other questions.

Was this done with multiple images combined or did you produce this from a single image? I'm interested in creating similar photos but have absolutely no idea on how to go about it.

ja.. both the wedding shots were done from a single image. Just got lucky with having the right lighting which allowed for allot more information in the shots.
Most of HDR's are done with multiple shots. More to work with.. but its always worth a try to see if u can get a decent HDR out of a single file.

awesome angle man Very hard to do skin in HDR at most times, so this works.

Sweet DK, appreciate you stopping by. I dropped u a note on what i did with the skin, But with this one i got lucky and was able to do one pass instead of the two that i explained in the note.
They were busy posing for the pro.. so i was just doing it paparazzi style and shooting randomly with my wide angle
