There was a time when this realm and the realm of shadows were one, mythical creatures would roam the earth, on this times the humanity was in fact magical, a whole force, but this always comes with escalades and the end of the ages of might and power, no one really knows how was this possible but the realms were separated getting the realm of shadows the wondrous power of magic. still this power also made impossible to all the powerful creatures to cross to this realm.

Even so there are times where the veil that separates the 2 realms dims and then this creatures get to spread fear and chaos while other bring peace and wisdom.
to end all this a man decided to work as the guardian of the veil in the shadowlands, humans can easily get there, if they know the ritual and even comeback but this one stud there.
This common man however had an advantage, while in the realm of shadows and holding a holy relic he could live there without aging a day giving him the gift of time for develop his skills, centuries passed before he could really master all the techniques he trained on that land of darkness
