I know this is really generic for this style of illustration, but I after getting discouraged with another thing I've been working on, I decided I needed to do something I was confident I could pull off in order to restore my self esteem.I'm pleased enough with it, it served its purpose.
EDIT: I did originally have this on a light blue background, but I think that this brown paper-style background I've been using really suits the style, so I've gone with it.

I love the style that you drew this in, as well as the background.
This is pretty great stuff, it reminds me of something that you might see in the "Iam8Bit" art exibit.

Ah yes, I think I know what you mean. That would be interesting to attempt. And there's no reason why you can't do stuff like that. Seriously, you just need to keep pracitising and learning. It has taken me years to get me to even this level. You should see the best things I was making in like 2001...really, really bad. So stick with it! : )
