Thanks for the chance of having a go at this Rob – I really do feel rather honoured
And thanks too to each of , , , and , all for letting me use some of their artwork here.
1. Let’s start with an easy one. How and when did your affinity for (or obsession over) 'superheroine boobies' develop?
Well, I guess I just think boobies really are rather lovely really! Clearly, I prefer them larger than smaller, and I've generally struggled to get my head round that weird concept of 'having too much of a good thing'. Perhaps it's because so many heroines' outfits seem to have been designed with some form of 'tease' in mind; “You can look but not touch mi-laddio, and while you're distracted by my jiggling jubblies, I'll be saving the day and bringing you to justice...”
I guess I started daydreaming early on about how mortified a lovely heroine may be if the girls decided to pop out to enjoy some fresh air at a suitably inappropriate moment; or how some lithesome lovely may get on with performing her usual routine of cartwheels, pirouettes, and high kicks if she suddenly found her balance unavoidably affected by a couple of cumbersome zeppelins suddenly secured to her still-slender frame.

2. And, to follow up, when did you first realize that you were 'an ol’ superheroine perv'? Who was the first heroine that you 'perved' over?
Well, the hint is very definitely in the pic above (Thank you again ). I loved Thundercats as a young 'un, and for some strange reason Cheetara caught my eye more than the rest of her team-mates. (I should also give an honourable mention to Firestar and Spider-Woman, who also had splendid cartoons on around the same time.)
I went to an all-lads school as a teenager (which has probably helped create my occasionally less-than-enlightened view of the fairer sex to this day...) and I guess when my mates were generally enjoying the charms of more mainstream celebrities (many of which very deservedly so *cough* Kylie Minogue / Cindy Crawford *cough*), I was still more considering the attributes of some dynamic heroine and wondering what might happen if she had,um, a bad day...
- I wonder if Cheetara could run so fast she might leave her costume behind?
- If Wonder Woman ever got herself tangled up in her spinning quick-change?
- If She-Ra might slash her dress asunder if she grabbed that sword wrong?
- If Supergirl ever realised she'd forgotten to put her panties on?
3. You're pretty good about commissioning other artists to do renders for you. How do you decide which artists to commission when you want particular artwork?
That's a bit of a toughie actually. There are quite a few artists I commission, and some for very different reasons. Don't get me wrong, they're all great people, but they clearly all have different styles, and generally work in different ways. Working with different people is really rather refreshing.
Sometimes my commissions are all my idea (generally pretty grubby!), and sometimes they have been reworked into something that actually resembles a coherent plot
Generally the people I bother are those both whose artwork I admire, but are also nice enough people to humour my despicable ramblings.
Oh, and , who doesn't qualify in either category...
4. You’re a very good sport when people poke fun at you, but at what point does it get to be 'too much' even for you?
Hmmm, no-one's even been 'too much' for me so far. I mentioned growing up in an all-boys school so generally you had to get used to both taking it and giving it.
It's maybe sometimes got 'too much' when I've tried roleplay with people – no offence to the people concerned but I've tended to find it quite time-consuming and a bit awkward when you're wanting to pull in different directions. I really don't tend to want to bother with it anymore, but if you happen to be a beautiful young lady with a penchant for failing dismally as a glamorous heroine, I suppose I might try to stir myself from my slumbers...
5. What is it about Jerusalem and the Orkney Islands that make them two of your favourite places on Earth?
Wow, you have been reading my blurb indeed
Well, they're the two places I admit that nerdy Lardy has maps of on his wall.
The Old City of Jerusalem is an amazingly vibrant place; hugely theologically sacred to the 3 great monotheistic religions of course (let's NOT get into the Holy Trinity here!), but also so crucial to the state of the world today. I'm really not meaning to try to justify some of the atrocities committed in the name of any of Christianity, Islam, or Judaism over the years, but I really struggle to see any form of lasting peace across the world until a just peace can be found in the Jerusalem where everyone who feels a sense of ownership over the holy city can have fair access to it.
Orkney, I just love. Their main tourist draw is their ancient spirituality, a variety of stone circles and ancient sites even older than Stonehenge. Hence the gratuitous pic from below;
courtesy of Tiangtam -- tiangtam.deviantart.com
But it's also genuinely beautiful and tranquil, a great road trip away from my car, and basically I'm a bit of an awkward swine. While some people like to go and sweat on hot beaches for their holidays, I am sufficiently corpulent that it's my idea of hell. On the other hand, pop me in a place where it's very difficult to NOT have a sea view, splendid local delicacies to taste, Irn-Bru available everywhere, and one of those rare pool tables where I have a winning record; yep, I'll be happy enough for a few days...
6. What is the significance of your dA Avatar?
That's an easy one! I actually explained that here to be honest -- fav.me/daxekp6
Basically the hound in question was created by the lovely and she was looking for a name for him; I suggested 'Ben' my old pooch and former best friend. (Yes, I'm a soppy sod at times). Becarra liked it and the rest is pretty much history. Becarra's taken Ben on all sorts of exciting adventures. And they're well worth checking out on her page.
7. How did you develop your penchant for creating some of the most challenging word searches that I’ve ever seen? How much time and effort do you put into creating those puzzles? When will we see the next one?
Hey, I'm a nerd. I've created them occasionally over the years, but it's never been a regular thing. I made the first one on here for JamJarMonster, who is sadly no longer on DA. She'd made loads of art for me and I wanted to do something 'creative' for her birthday. I'm no artist, and I'm really not much of a writer, so I thought a word search was something that I could put a bit of effort into.
When it came to Heroine Appreciation Day, it felt like something I could supersize to make my contribution to the day – and it was nice to be able to offer a few prizes from some of regular partners in crime to make it a bit more interesting. I really enjoyed creating the Christmas one, but I made it too complicated and a couple of the prizes were never claimed.
The trickiest thing for me is defining the list of words I want to put in there. A grid with say 20-40 words in I could do in an evening. The bigger boys – well, they predictably take a bit longer. I didn't mean to stop making them. I suppose I got a bit distracted and stingy. I've occasionally been working at my next prize one, which will be the biggest yet; but because of that I've been struggling to finish it off.
I finally created a smaller one last week, which I admit was primarily at your urging

8. How much of 'the real you' is in the persona you’ve created here on DeviantArt?
Well, was nice enough to create the above image to illustrate a typical evening at Lard Towers. Ahem.
OF COURSE the real Lord Lard is a fearsome tormentor to heroines everywhere, a malevolent and near-omnipotent force with his finger on the pulse of all scientific and magical advancements to make sure he stays sufficiently ahead of any lame trick some soon-to-be-disappointed heroine may try to pull.
I mean, it's either that or Lardy's a sad and rather lonely middle-aged bloke who doesn't always interact with people very well in real life, so spends most of his evenings fantasising about being someone rather different to who he really is.
One of the two
9. Without naming names, have any of your humorous comments on dA ever been taken too seriously and genuinely offended someone? If so, how did you handle that situation?
Well, thank you for calling them 'humorous', but there are a few occasions when I know I've taken things too far and I've been rightly called out on it.
What can I do? Apologise, hide my offensive comment, and try to learn for next time. I think I've got better at keeping my fruitier comments for those that may actually appreciate them; but sometimes I need and get a slap-down. I've never yet blocked anyone or had that done to me, so hopefully I'm not some sort of unreasonable monster that can't be talked to; and hopefully I can keep it that way.
10. How would you improve dA if you had the opportunity to do so?
Well, the answer a lot of people give is around that blurred boundary between art and porn. It's not really the hugest of issues to me but certainly there seems to be a lack of consistency at times. I suppose a big part of the reason that I like dear old DA is that it's a great place to share musings of how a Superheroine may get defeated, humiliated and generally placed in a vulnerable situation where unspeakable things may happen to her; that I am in one of those places where whatever those 'things' may be that you couldn't show them here. And genuinely I much prefer the takedown rather than what some sites would see as the inevitable results.
I don't know whether it's a real improvement, but I think one of the shames about DA is how we can sometimes hide behind our usernames. (Now I know, I know, Lord Lard is certainly rotund, but he's definitely got no peerage!) But it's always a real shame when people you talk to a lot and you're starting to care for, well, just disappear. There's no way of knowing what's happened to them IRL, and there are a couple of people that I'd just dearly love to know are ok.
11. Would you rather lose to; Wisp or Wonder Woman? And explain why.
Fantastic, an easy one to finish with. Wondy, by a margin of victory roughly comparable to the hiding that Arsenal football club take every year whenever they get into European knockout competition.
I mean, don't get me wrong, losing to Wonder Woman would be pretty embarrassing and hard to fathom; our delectable Amazon has shown about as many entertaining ways to have her delectable tushie kicked, as, well, a certain North London football club as soon as they cross the Channel. Just ask - she seems to have experienced most of them!
But she's still an Amazon. Surely ONE of these of days by the law of averages she'll have to get lucky and find someone to whom she doesn't immediately capitulate. It may not happen THIS decade, but Amazons do live a long time...
But – Wisp? WISP? CAN YOU IMAGINE? I can hardly fathom how that delicious little bimbo manages to dress herself in the morning, let alone envisage her as a credible threat. She's as likely to beat me as Arsenal are to finish higher than 2nd while Arsene Wenger remains in charge...
(By the way, have you guessed who supports yet? )
What's she gonna do? Fly in incognito and no doubt get herself caught up in the wind chimes? Try and cast a spell and set her panties on fire? Attempt to run away and stumble over because she put her boots on her wrong feet because she doesn't know her left from her right?
Hey, I'd LOVE to see her try...
So overall, most begrudgingly and through gritted teeth, I could just about imagine a situation where the Princess of Themyscira may find herself temporarily not bent over my knee with Lord Lard beating out the world's longest bongo solo on her tender tushie.
But – and let's say this very carefully – 'Lord Lard losing to Wi...' - nope the idea's just too ridiculous for me to even type it, let alone think it
12. What else would you like people to know about you?
Well, it's a funny one this, but I think this may be the time to own up. I'm a churchgoing Christian. A lot of my regular chums on here already know this about me, and I admit it's something that I wrestle with, how can I justify trying to follow a faith where at it's best Christ is teaching us to be discipline ourselves to be more like him – and yet I've read the gospels pretty thoroughly over the years, and never seen that Jesus' response to a damsel in distress was to call for 'MORE ROPES'.
But I guess I also see it as an encouragement really. That yep, I'm about as flawed an individual as you can imagine, but I do believe there's someone that journeys with me that wants me to be a better human being than I currently am. But he also bothers enough about this wretch to bother with me right now.
If that bothers anyone reading this, please feel free to take it up with me – but Notes is probably the best place...

AN AMAZING INTERVIEW, MY FRIEND!!!
Although I´m a bit late to read it, hehe! Lardy is, by far, one of the most interesting artists I have found here on DA. Lots of good-quality female boobies are visible in his gallery, hehe. Any commission idea he has requested from ANY DA artists (including myself, ), includes a bit of his own personal, kinky fetishes/fantasies, hehe! And HE has a very interesting personality landscape, hehe! Good work on letting us know a bit of this kinky, GENIUS buddy!

And excellent interview! Although, I'd like to point out to everyone that if I hadn't proofread 's answers it would have been a disaster. This what it originally said:
"12. Would you rather lose to; Wisp or Wonder Woman? And explain why.
