Description
Of all the Clans from the Great Exodus, none are more dedicated to Kerensky’s Hidden Hope Doctrine than the Jade Falcons. On the planned return to the Inner Sphere, the Falcons contemplated resistance from classic and clichéd mechs. Stories from Wolf’s Dragoons Recon reports confirmed what they were to face – old, common mechs, especially Wasps, Stingers, Locusts, Commandos, Panthers, OstScouts, and Javelins.
Like with so many Clans, the Jade Falcons created machines dedicated to fighting the forces of the Inner Sphere. One of which was the Accipiter.
The Accipiter was designed to be like the Javelin, Locust, Stinger, Wasp, and OstScout – that is light, fast, and capable of fire support and recon/surveillance. Unlike those and other light mechs of the Inner Sphere, this machine was also going to pack a serious wallop.
For a start it packed an ATM (Advanced Tactical Missile) 9, with an impressive two tons of ammo. With it, the Accipiter could fire various missiles at mixed ranges at its opponent; even worse for the target, ATMs came with the Artemis-IV system as standard guaranteeing accurate strikes. This was combined with an Active Probe, giving the pilot the added advantage of identifying targets with accuracy, relaying such details to bigger forces, and making recordings for future studies.
Backing that up was three ER medium lasers, capable of blasting foes at good range, and again combined with the Artemis-IV, the strikes had accurate impact.
This combined with two jump jets, an XL engine, fifteen double heatsinks, and an endo steel frame, the light mechs of the Inner Sphere stood little chance. If there were any weaknesses, it carried just three tons of armour.
The design is deliberate – its large triangular frame emphasizes the bird shaped nature of the Jade Falcons. This design is similar to their other mechs, the Shrike, the Jade Hawk, and the Gyrfalcon.
When the invasion took place, through Lyran space, the Accipiters shattered lance after lance of older lighter mechs. Not even the powerful Javelins with their twin SRM-6 systems stood a chance – the Accipiter blew them to bits.
However, the Accipiter suffered with its Clan – it was beaten at Tukayyid by Comstar, then the dreaded Trial of Refusal against Clan Wolf saw the Accipiter like so many of Jade Falcon’s forces take a hammering.
Nether the less, the Accipiter is a very high prized mech due to its formidable capabilities and is still a lethal foe.

It's a cool concept with that wing-like torso design going on. Question though: sounds like the description is saying the ER lasers can use the Artemis IV system for increased accuracy. I thought the Artemis IV was just for missiles.

First off: thanks
Second: As I understand it, the three lasers, combined with the Artemis guided missiles made for accurate strikes.
