I've always envied your ability to draw shapes! Seriously, it's like you automatically draw curves and things that look really amazing.. Did you practice that, or do you naturally draw that way? I'm just like.. my hand.. doesn't make cool shapes. ;___;

well a lot of it comes from the fact that i work and think mostly in lines instead of tonally. so most of my work is restricted with a clean line to define shape. Over time you will learn how to make the line do just what you want to create an illusion of shape or volume. So it's a lot of practice but it all stems from how i naturally think, which is linearly. I also used to work HUGE on like six foot tall drawings when i was younger which helps you get a really good feel for line flow and quality. Now I work pretty small but try to keep the same amount of natural flow. I also only allowed myself to make lines with a brush for about a year, which i now replicate with pencil.
If you want to get a good source of people to look at you should try Jillian Tamaki, any ukio-e artist but i recommend either hokusai or kitagawa utamaro, and also ingres' drawings.

Oh, thanks. That's really interesting to hear, as I seem to be completely opposite. You've given me some really good tips! I know that working that way will be a challenge, but I think, if I ever have the patience again, working with a brush will help quite a bit.. as well as practicing of course. The artists you mentioned are definitely worth looking into as well, thank you!
