Interesting stuff. I recently thought of the Samnite types are an evolution from the Corinthian helmet, but can't find any typology on the subject so I'm not sure there... I think Samnite helmets are a crossing between the late corinthian and the attic type with italian influence on the overhaul. Maybe I'll get my information from that video!

Yeah, you're probably not far off on the Samnite helmet evolution. I should imagine there might have been some influence come from the Greeks that were on the Italic peninsular. I suppose Attic and Chaldician helmets might have had more of an influence.
