I know VI is the Sutton Hoo helmet, but does anyone know the names of all the others?

All the others are variants on Spangenhelm types. None are actual finds. However, I did look at helmets 'A 1994' and 'A 1996' from the Kunsthistorisches Museum. Also piece '42.50.1' from the The Met and the Spangenhelm in the Rheinisches Landesmuseum is worth a look. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply. I couldn't find the helmets on google. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you give me some links?

I wouldn't really say a Knight's helm, knight's didn't really come around till Charlemagne's era. XI is more Scandinavian inspired, and they mostly fought on foot.

Any (minus XI) of these could have been a footman helm then?

Well, no helmet is specifically designed for mounted or foot combat. In this period only the nobility and mercenaries could afford helmets. It depends on which tribe or nation that tended to fight on foot, mounted or both. They're all interchangeable really.

I would say so yes. During the migration era, when the Suebi migrated down to the Iberian peninsular, these types of helmets would have been around.

I'll probably do an Attlic or Chaldician. A Phrygian would be cool. I'd want to do all of them to be honest haha!

These are really nice helmets, I am more a Roman armor fan myself but if Helmet I and II has a back guard I wouldn't mind using them for a battle.
