Back from vacation, made a quick environment from A Link Between Worlds based on this Reference image .Made with Autodesk Maya and Photoshop.

That's odd, never had any trouble with it myself. 3ds Max, Cinema 4D or Sketchup are other alternatives you might want to look into

I don't have that much experience with these software's but at least Autodesk 3ds Max and Cinema 4D are top of the line 3d programs for modeling, animation and rendering. Sketchup is more basic and used most often for modeling things like architecture.
