Description Model builder extraordinaire, Martin Bower, who built the Space:1999 models, and Alien and Outland, etc, was gracious enough to email this shot of one of his latest projects.
I have painstakingly rotoscoped it, and here she is, in her native environment.

This is a good image, and takes me back many decades. I built the original kit when it came out. When was that? Around 1969 I think.
Very good point on the colour. I once saw an image of a Moonbus parked on a pad that looked to be the APOLLO-11 landing site. If memory serves it was painted in a traditional school bus yellow and black livery. I suspect that in reality International orange, Industrial Yellow, and/or blaze orange, would be best.
Although, a bright blue would work in lunar light phase, but would likely get lost in dark phase, which would have a lot of reflected "Earth-Glow" blue on the surface. Anyone have a scene of a crashed Moonbus?

Great composition RR
Got the model under the bed, waiting for a rainy day, never keen on the white ship flying over a pale grey back ground, if it crashed it would be hard to find.

You're right about that!
I guess the orange beak on the Space 1999 hawks makes sense.
