Here it is, page 3! And what's this? A splash of colour? Don't get used to it. Colour will be used for very select occasions, if you've been good boys and girls. I won't lie; it's because I'm a lazy bastard.
We meet Alanis, my starter; a Charmander. Honestly, wasn't expecting a female. That threw me off 'cause I didn't have a nickname lined up for 'her'. I was gonna call her (if she was male) Homme, after Josh Homme from QOTSA, but that fell through. You might notice the tufts of fur added to her character design. This is because I wanted to make it more clear that she was, in fact, a SHE. Charmander is a fairly masculine pokemon, and adding eyelashes isn't really going to make much of a difference, especially if I'm making weird faces in which eyelashes are not visible.
Here's a game for all of you readers! You figure out who I'm naming all my pokemon after! By the way, Alanis is a pretty easy one to get, as there is a big clue in the title of the page!
Other stuff... So far, this is probably my strongest comic... though that's for you to decide, I guess. The first panel with the squirtle took the longest out of them all. I just couldn't get it right, even after looking at various pictures of squirtle in different positions. Eventually, I got what you see above and I thought "You know what? It's good enough". And isn't that what really matters?
So far, a pretty good comic, especially considering the fact that it is done ENTIRELY in Paint.Net

Getting a female Charmander off the bat really threw me at first - I kind of had plans for some of the characters before I started playing, like I knew that I wanted to have a d-bag rival, and all that. I had an idea that it was gonna be like a bromance thing between Cody and the Charmander, but getting that 1/8 female Charmander kinda put a wrench in that lol.
Yeah, I think that Chad might have a bit of a vindictive streak, hey

I actually like your rival here. He's a total douche, but hey, that's the embodiment of his character. A hat only a fifteen year-old would think is cool, a SWAG shirt with the number 69 below it, a dollar necklace, etc. It's a total stereotype, but I'm a sucker for stereotypes in comics.

Hahaha thanks! He's my favourite character to write for. You've pretty much nailed what I wanted to get across about him; just the embodiment of stereotypical white-boy-wannabe-gangsta. The sad thing is I know at least 6 people pretty much exactly like that.

You may want to increase the resolution of the pages you draw. That way you can get rid of the jagged bumps on the line art.

Thanks for the critique, but could you possibly clarify what you mean? Now that I've noticed the jagged bumps, they're starting to irritate me.

When you go to file and then to new, there should be an option called "resolution". It's usually set to 96 but I recommend setting it to 300. What this does is increase the pixels per inch and creates a more smooth line that you need to zoom closer into in order to see the bumps. Then, when your done drawing, go to "edit" then to "image" and set the resolution back to 96. After that, when you save the file, save it as a "png" file. This will make it nice and efficient for web use.
