Description
I can’t take a single ounce of credit for Lara Croft’s creation, but it’s interesting to note that she was probably inevitable. I was working in computer game design at the time she debuted. For a couple of years before that I’d been lobbying hard to have us create an adventure game focused on a single, sexy, capable female character, arguing she’d appeal to both male and female gamers, but probably on different levels. No one bought my pitches… but after Tomb Raider’s release I’m sure they can’t imagine a time when they WOULDN’T have gone for the idea.

OK, on this piece in specific I was inspired by all the different Croft cosplayers out there, each bringing their own slightly unique aspect to the character. So I decided to follow that model, instead of capturing the character 100% as she appears in-game or on-screen. So here you have Croft ala Caswell – a Frankesteinian creation of my own, built on the V4 body.

The set is Stonemason’s (excellent) Jungle Ruins, with a 2D jungle backdrop. Light is just basic DAZ Studio 3 spots with some distance haze added in Photoshop during postwork. So pretty old school – nothing fancy, even though it delivered some neat results.
