Well he has just a short back story. I created the character in this work ([link] ) [not sure how to link] and everyone loved the smoke effect, which isn't mine. So i decided to try and make a story for him, but I never got around to finishing it. In some sense its the kind of thing I do anyway (though don't usually post) which is to create a scene that is open to interpretation. Well thats what I wanted to do! I'm glad you enjoyed it and I'm also enjoying my 'proper' commenting buzz. Tis fun!

oh, i never said the story: he's stealing smoke whisps for some plan that never materialised. if you can suggest a reason, i'll try make it!

That's pretty cool... I especially like how it looks like he's grabing a hold of it and pulling it along with him. It certainly is open to interpretation. In my head, they're running away to get married. XD

What app do you use for your work? You can pick up loads of brushes for Photoshop here on DA, thats where I got the nice smoke effects. You should look around in the resources category, always something useful!
