When I posted my last drawing of Clone Commander Fox I said I'd also done two more Clones - and here's the second one of the trio. I hope to have time to finish up the last one soon.I wanted to try to make it look like Rex was almost shooting at the viewer - but that made it very difficult to get the perspective right. I have a different version without the laser blasts (which I added on a new layer) - but I think I just about prefer this version. I also painted all of the dirt and damage on his armour on a different layer. I was never really a fan of these 'dirty' Clones - as I thought that they would be disciplined and proud enough to apply some polish, or paint, to their armour unless they were in the middle of a battle. It always puzzled me why, in the Clone Wars movie, the Clones were immediately dirty - and they all had exactly the same dirt patterns!
This is a low-res version of the original and was first drawn in Sketchbook Pro on a Samsung Galaxy Note tablet (2014) then finished in Photoshop using a Wacom pad. It's an original depiction but Star Wars and its characters were created by George Lucas and are copyright of Disney. This is fan art and isn't for sale or reproduction.

Means I'm going to have to pay attention to Disney XD air times again... I've seen the trailer, and it was good (although I always expected Rex to be Vaders second in command still, since the 501st is still with him). Little worried about Vader being the main enemy though. You know how he ends up, so the rebels really can't win.
And about Vader in episodes 4-6, by then he was probably getting a bit old and sentimental. I think finding outLuke was alive changed a lot for him.

Yeah But if you watched season six of star wars the clone wars it was not too much of a surprise that he left the republic before order 66 mainly because he learned the truth about a certain thing implanted into every single clone trooper sadly chances are Cody is most likely working for the empire would be surprised if he was moved into the 501st and was made a personal commander for vader. don't worry dave filoni the main writer for the show said vader is not going to be a reoccurring villain for the show he is only going to show up to remind the rebels that they are still inferior to the empire. and yeah you probably are right about vader being a bit old (I wonder how old was he by then I am thinking he might have been in like his late 40s or possibly in his 50s) and about finding out about luke. in any case you really should catch up with star wars rebels when you can season 1 might seem a bit childish at time but season 2 makes up for it completely so nice to hear James earl jones voice vader other then the lego stars wars specials the last time he voiced vader (to my knowledge anyways) was in star wars the force unleashed and that was so long ago

Oh season 1 was great. This is the kind off Star Wars you play in RPG's, so I can really relate. Also, they are all characters with a backstory. Mostly not yet told in whole, but they have reasons for being there and doing what they do. They keep it light for the kids but there is a lot there about war and it's consequences.
Kids never did work out well in our game group though, I remember the Captain Empire TV/holovid show fan (ended up betraying the party because Captain Empire told him so) and that was one of the better ones.

As for the dirty vs shiny clone/stormie thing: it was George Lucas that envisioned the "used future" look into his Star Wars films. Its mentioned in the documentary: "Empire of Dreams".
I've always liked the dirty, used look over the spit-and-polish as they come off as "seasoned troops" who are battle weary and not too worried about "looking pretty for the enemy", lol. But, the regular clones and stormies do clean thier ceremonial armors and armors they wear when not on long difficult deployments or dangerous patrols.
The specialized "special operations" clones like the ARC Troopers, Republic Commandos, and even ARC-trained clones I definitely like to see muddy and dirty because of the added nods to real-life special operations operators that perform unconventional guerrilla warfare and do have a more relaxed appearance and uniform regulation compared to regular "spit-and-polish" conventional troops.
The film, "Black Hawk Down" is a great example of this. Notice the elite Delta Force soldiers as compared to the specialized Rangers. Army Rangers are not exactly "conventional" but are more the in-between troops who are very specialized shock troops but still adhere to strict regulations and procedures.
