Description
Another pin-up in progress for Rose City Comic Con in progress. I love Joe Mad's work on Savage Wolverine (along with the rest of the world haha) so I wanted to do a pin up of those characters. Joe Mad has always been a huge influence to me so it's always exciting to see new work from him. This will be colored and available at the con.Related content

I know comics can bend laws about proportions and stuff like that, but Elektra's pose looks painful. I just want to say keep in mind if the pose is natural or not. Pushing it a little is fine, but know the limits. Other than that, great job Good inking.Β

It was based on this wushu pose. I obviously changed a few things to acomodate a woman's body instead of a man's Β and moved her arm down so I gave her torso a different twist than the reference photo but I'll let you decide if the pose is possible or not. It's not a natural pose but it's the pose of a warrior and a ninja.

I recommend to stay true to the reference pose. Just wait Β a few weeks and you'll probably see it looks odd. I know people are fidgy about drawing female and showing off their best, but artists can do it without making them deformed (More than needed)

I get what you are saying. It's all part of the learning process and I am learning right along with every other artist. I would still rather be known as someone who maybe pushes it a bit too far from time to time than as someone who sticks so closely to reference that I almost become a very talented copy machine.
