Doodling on my iPad and obsessing on the missing episode recovery. ...ok, technically I've been obsessing on the recovery for months.I once pitched an idea to IDW to adapt the missing stories to graphic novels. And while IDW seems to like the idea, the BBC wasn't as responsive. Which is a shame as I would hand loved to have adapted The Macra Terror or The Web of Fear. Oh we'll, maybe the recovery effort will render it all moot. Knock on wood, cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I always thought it would be neat to adapt all the classic series into comics--not only to help put action to those missing stories, but you could make the stories feel bigger than they could with the shoestring budget.

That would've been my plan, long term. Adapting the missing stories was my main goal, but if they proved successful, I would loved to have kept going. We already have the Target novelizations and the narrated audios- a comic book version doesn't seem too crazy. But they said no and now IDW's lost the Doctor Who license altogether. Still, it's too good and too simple of an idea- it will happen one day, I think. But I really do wish I'd been able to get it off the ground now.

Yeah--I've been tempted to try it myself, but I'm no where near a strong enough artist to pull it off.

It seems the BBC never seems to go for good ideas. First they decided not to do that animated series and then they didn't go for this. I'd have loved to have read some Second Doctor graphic novels. Since the Macra Terror is never likely to be recovered it probably would have made a great read.

Well, let's hope that a massive haul is announced this week, rendering it all moot.
