Description

Origin- Jefferson "Frost" Frederickson was a criminal for hire on the streets of Valiant city.  He was greatly respected within his "Community," especially for his icey demeanor- hence his nickname "Frost."  However, once Starfighter showed up in Valiant, criminals found their operations impacted.  Frost found his work being compromised, especially after being captured by Starfighter during a job. This led him to taking a rather risky job to quickly regain his finances, one that entailed securing a valuable piece of technology from a local laboratory.  Once there, Frost found that the technology was to be for a special suit designed to deal with meltdowns at nuclear plants.  The suit was to protect the wearer and allow them to cool down the plant from a remote distance. However, the suit had a bug in it that caused the low temperatures it generated to be TOO cold, freezing things over rather than just cooling them down.  But whereas the scientists saw a bug, Frost saw a feature.  Frost decided to steal the suit for himself and use it as a weapon against Starfighter, taking on the name Frostbite.

Frostbite, as his name implies, is a rather cold hearted individual.  He has been known to execute subordinates at a moments notice if they fail him.  But with this icey demeanor comes a cool professionalism that makes him reliable to many, especially with the added benefit of his new suit.  Frostbite's suit increases his strength and durability, even greater than that of Starfighter's.  The real benefit of the suit however, comes from it's ability to generate intense low temperature thermal blasts which can freeze practically anything.  These blasts may not be as powerful as Starfighter's starforce blasts, but they damage they can cause and their overall versatility allows Frostbite to be a potent threat.  Frostbite also tends to work with a crew of criminals, meaning he is not just a singular threat.

Design- "Ice" was another obvious elemental foe, but this was one that caused a problem.  For Starfighter's villains, I wanted them to contrast with him visually.  This meant having opposing color schemes.  This is fine and good for guys like Pulsar and Earthmaster who could be colored in warmer tones as opposed to the cooler pallet for Starfighter.  But for a character that is meant to represent "Cold" and "Ice," that proved a bit of a difficulty since their color scheme would have to be similar to the protagonists.

I initially thought of coloring him in black and dark blues, but then I thought back to the Lego Space kits from my youth, particularly the Lego Ice Planet line of sets.  In that set, the white and blue suits were offset by pieces that were colored bright orange, and I realized that including that color would help set him apart enough from Starfighter.  That the orange would help to contrast with Starfighter's blue.

Yup.  Megaman and Lego Ice Planet.  This is where it's all coming from folks.

I also decided to give Frostbite tubes around his arms to give some sort of weight and physicality to his arms, rather than just having them be some generic metal gauntlets, to make his blasts look impressive.

Maybe those tubes around his arms can become gauntlets, just to make the suit more technological. Still great idea for the color palette

A great variation on Mr. Freeze and Captain Cold.

A Captain Cold hood and a Sub-Zero mask for good measure. Very cool.

Pun not intended until I realized it so now it is intended

I like how he has more enigmatic, sweeping visual aspects (like the hood and poncho), but with a more dynamic, agile looking body. It gives an interesting contrast to his look.
