I would not soften the edges that much and I would add more contrast if it was me (at least I would try

Thank you so much YoiHitoSensei. Very kind of you to say. I really enjoy doing portraits. I feel like I learn so much from every one. I agree that I should have created more of a painterly look. This one looks a little too airbrushed, but I used a soft brush for the entire painting so that is why. Thanks again for taking the time to comment and more on the way!

The use of airbrush is always attractive since it gives a very smooth clean look and a lot of people love that so I understand perfectly
I feel like portraits are the most difficult thing in painting and drawing especially realistic ones, proportions of the face are so sensitive and achieving likeness is very difficult for me

It is very tough to get them right. I have been at it for a lot of years and still do not feel I am as good as I need to be. I get a little closer every day and that is what keeps me going! Thanks again and take care.
